American Horror Story to bring back a familiar face
Stop the presses! Lana Winters’ American Horror Story isn’t over quite yet.
Ryan Murphy announced via Twitter on Monday that the character, whom Sarah Paulson portrayed in the show’s second season, will return to AHS for its current season.
Long-term viewers of the FX anthology series will remember Paulson’s Winters as the daring reporter who not only went undercover at the season’s titular Asylum, in order to investigate an inmate who was purported to be the notorious serial killer “Bloody Face.” However, it’s unclear how this will fit in with Audrey Tindall, Paulson’s character on the series’ latest season (titled Roanoke), an actress in My Roanoke Nightmare, a show-within-the-show.
And this won’t be the show’s only callback to previous seasons. Ryan Murphy announced at EW PopFest on Sunday that American Horror Story will be doing a crossover featuring characters from it’s first (Murder House) and third (Coven) seasons.
American Horror Story: Roanoke airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
An anthology series that centers on different characters and locations, including a haunted house, an insane asylum, a witch coven, a freak show, and a hotel.
