This Is Us - Season 3

Don’t mean to scare you, but This Is Us is adding a castmember from American Horror Story to its guest roster.

Denis O’Hare — who has appeared in five of the six seasons of AHS, including the current one — will appear in multiple episodes of NBC’s family dramedy, EW has learned exclusively.

Details on his character are scant, but O’Hare plays Jessie, a friend of William (Ron Cephas Jones). Jessie will make his first appearance later this season.

One of O’Hare’s costars in the fourth season of AHS was This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz. The Good Wife, The Comedians, Banshee, and True Blood are among his other recent TV credits. O’Hare will be seen in the upcoming ABC miniseries When We Rise, which chronicles the gay rights movement.

The TIU guest cast also includes Gerald McRaney, Jon Huertas, Katy Sagal, Brad Garrett, and Janet Montgomery. Another True Blood vet, Sam Trammell, will pop up soon in the role of Ben, who played in a band with Rebecca (Mandy Moore).

EW spoke with series creator Dan Fogelman, as well as cast members Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, and Ron Cephas Jones, about last week’s revelation-stuffed episode, “The Game Plan.” Click on their names for those interviews.

Moore, Ventimiglia, Metz, Sterling K. Brown, and Justin Hartley appeared on a panel to talk This Is Us at EW PopFest on Sunday.
