Your daily guide to the most interesting stuff happening on TV and streaming. All times Eastern.
PICK OF THE WEEKEND
Tracey Ullman’s Show
HBO, Friday, 11 p.m.
Tracey Ullman acquired U.S. citizenship a decade ago, but this sharp new sketch show sees the iconic comedian back in her native England for some good-natured (and occasionally brutal) British lampooning. As is her style, Ullman mixes portrayals of everyday folk with famous names. Characters include Camilla Parker Bowles, Angela Merkel, and, in a brilliant conceit, Dame Judi Dench. I suspect fans of her classic and similarly titled old series The Tracey Ullman Show (which birthed The Simpsons!) will be pleased.
Good Girls Revolt
Amazon, Friday, streaming
Based on the Lynn Povich novel about the landmark class-action suit filed by the women of Newsweek in 1970, the period drama follows the female researchers (including one played by Anna Camp) who clashed against the white-collar sexism in the publishing world. Bonus: It features Grace Gummer as Nora Ephron.
LIFETIME MOVIE OF THE YEAR
Lifetime, Saturday, 8 p.m.
A reality TV crew heads to Holmes County, Ohio, to follow an Amish sect, but production is stopped after an Amish witch dies. Double, double, toil and…bonnets?
