Casey Affleck has played Robert Ford, and now he’s teaming up with Robert Redford.

Redford and Affleck have signed on to star in the crime caper The Old Man and the Gun, telling the true story of a lifelong outlaw named Forrest Tucker.

Writer David Grann first told Tucker’s story in a 2003 New Yorker article chronicling the improbable life of the notorious bank robber, who broke out of prison a whopping 18 times. At the age of 70, he escaped from San Quentin and began robbing banks again, and The Old Man and the Gun will follow a detective (played by Affleck) who gets wrapped up in Tucker’s story, becoming “captiated with Forrest’s commitment to his craft and a woman who loves him in spite of his chosen profession.”

David Lowery is writing and directing the film, having previously collaborated with Affleck and Redford on Ain’t Them Bodies Saints and Pete’s Dragon, respectively. Redford and Lowery were first attached to the project back in 2013.

Principal photography is expected to begin in spring 2017 in Ohio.
