A Tribe Called Quest is gearing up for its grand finale.

Q-Tip announced Thursday night in a hand-written note that the rap group’s final album will be released Nov. 11 and feature Busta Rhymes and Consequence. In the letter, the rapper recalled the moment the quartet reunited last year on The Tonight Show for their first televised performance in 18 years.

“It was also the night of the Paris bombing,” Q-Tip wrote. “… As we left 30 Rock I felt the need, we all did, to get back to the studio and start that cook up!! SO WE GOT TO IT!!”

Founding member Phife Dawg died in March, but Q-Tip adds “he left us with the Blue Print of what we had to do.”

Music executive L.A. Reid teased the new music in August, Tribe’s first studio record since The Love Movement in 1998. “I’m really happy about it, man, it’s really something special,” Reid said. “It’s one of the things I’m most excited about over everything we’re working on.”
