Pure Genius doesn’t premiere until Thursday, but the stars have already drummed up excitement for CBS’ Silicon Valley twist on the classic medical drama.
The stars and executive producers — including Dermot Mulroney, Augustus Prew, and Jason Katims — sat down with EW to play a game where they pulled random words out of a bowl and used them to describe their show.
Prew plays James Bell, a millennial and tech billionaire who starts a new hospital using a cutting-edge approach to medicine. When he pulled out the word ‘bae,’ he had just the situation in mind. “There is potentially a love triangle that comes on in the future, and you’ll have to find out who becomes my bae,” he teased.
But his won’t be the only romance heating up the hospital. Killing two birds with one stone, Ward Horton, who plays Dr. Scott Strauss, pulled “spoiler alert” and “bae” and teased another possible love connection: “Not to be a spoiler alert, but there might be love interest between Reshma [Shetty’s] character and Dermot Mulroney’s character,” he said. “She may become his bae.”
