Last week, we got our first real look at Logan, the third and final movie about the adventures of Wolverine. The dusty, Western-inspired first trailer feels like a far cry from the shiny chrome of past X-Men stories, and although there were a few familiar faces — Hugh Jackman as the mutant with muttonchops and Patrick Stewart as the perpetually bald Professor X — the trailer made it clear that Logan is a new kind of X-Men movie: bleaker, bloodier, and grittier.

Now, a fan named Sam Ibrahim has created a similar trailer for 2003’s X-Men 2, recutting it in stark black and white and setting it to Johnny Cash’s cover of “Hurt.” All of the original stars are there — Halle Berry as Storm, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Anna Paquin as Rogue — but Ibrahim’s version gives X2 a far more sinister tone.

“This is Hugh Jackman’s last appearance as Logan, so it felt like a fitting tribute,” Ibrahim wrote in the video’s description.

Watch the X2 video (first spotted by The Hollywood Reporter) above, and head here for our deep dive into the new Logan trailer. Logan is set for release on March 3, 2017.
