1. Friends
Season 8, Episode 6
Revisit Monica and Chandler’s Halloween party! All the pals are in costume, although Ross definitely wins (he goes as Spud-nik). Meanwhile, Rachel makes the rookie mistake of handing out money to trick-or-treaters. Keep your money for yourself!
2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Season 2, Episode 6
One could argue that every episode of Buffy is a Halloween episode, but you can’t beat one that literally takes place on Oct. 31. In this creepy episode, everyone starts turning into their costumes. Which would be bad if you dressed as a ghost, like Willow, but good if you dressed as a rock star.
3. Parks and Recreation
Season 2, Episode 7
4. Cheers
Season 10, Episode 7
This episode is a Cheers double whammy: bar wars and Halloween! In this round of the ongoing battle between Cheers and Gary’s Old Town Tavern, all the pranks are Halloween-themed. The episode culminates with a seriously crazy trick.
5. Roseanne
Season 8, Episode 5
Roseanne did many Halloween episodes, but only this one revealed the most terrifying truth of all: Ouija is real. Indeed, Roseanne learns from a Ouija board that she’s going to go into labor — and then she does. If Ouija: Origin of Evil is too scary for you, stick with watching Roseanne.
6. The Office
Season 2, Episode 5
Dunder Mifflin prepares for its humdrum Halloween party, but Michael adds a truly scary element to the mix: He has to fire someone by the end of the day. Drama aside, this episode will always be remembered for two iconic costumes. While Michael becomes Two-Headed Michael thanks to a papier mâché head, Jim manages to both expend little effort and have a funny costume as Three-Hole-Punch Jim.
7. Frasier
Season 10, Episode 5
What’s better than a Halloween prank war? A double Halloween prank war! In this episode, we have Frasier vs. Bulldog and Gertude vs. a young neighbor.
8. How I Met Your Mother
Season 1, Episode 6
Ted haunts a Halloween party in search of a girl dressed as a “slutty pumpkin” Naomi (guest star Katie Holmes), with whom he hit it off once before but lost her number. As for his costume, a hanging chad look is too obscure for anyone to understand, obviously. At least we get a great couples costume from Marshall and Lily: he is Jack Sparrow and she is his parrot.

9. Bob’s Burgers
Season 3, Episode 2
Tina, Gene, and Louise are smarter than all of us because they trick or treat in a rich neighborhood and get full size candy bars. Also, Gene’s costume is hilarious: He goes as Queen Latifah in her “U.N.I.T.Y.” era.
10. Freaks and Geeks
Season 1, Episode 3
Celebrate Halloween with some ’80s nostalgia. Sam and pals go trick-or-treating even though they’re a little too old (who among us has not walked that line?). Meanwhile, Lindsay and friends wreak some havoc.
11. Supernatural
Season 4, Episode 7
You didn’t think these guys would have Halloween off, did you? The Winchester brothers celebrate Halloween by stopping local witches from resurrecting a demon in an episode diving into Samhain mythology.
12. The Vampire Diaries
“Haunted“
Season 1, Episode 7
This Vampire Diaries Halloween episode naturally features beautiful people partying in costume. And oh yeah, “Haunted” marks Vicki’s first day as a vampire, and it won’t go down without bloodshed.
13. American Horror Story: Murder House
“Halloween Parts 1 and 2“
Season 1, Episodes 4 and 5
American Horror Story is terrifying year round, so just imagine how scary the two-part Halloween episode is. This Murder House is filled with ghosts from the start, but on Halloween, the dead can walk freely. These episodes have everything: death, ghosts, a human made of stitched-together animal parts, a missing person, and a glass shard used as a weapon.
14. Pretty Little Liars
Season 2, Episode 13
Come for the glamorous costumes, stay because you’re frozen in terror. In this horror-filled episode, the girls must enter a haunted house to save Alison. The requisite sexy Halloween party is included.
15. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Season 6, Episode 7
This brilliant Halloween episode centers around a mystery: Who got Dee pregnant? To crack the case, the gang struggles to remember a boozy Halloween party.
