SNL: Alec Baldwin calls out brother during debate cold open
Alec Baldwin went a little meta on Saturday night, calling out his brother Stephen Baldwin during the cold open of this weekend’s Saturday Night Live.
Alec once again returned to the SNL stage to play Donald Trump, an impression that drew the ire of Stephen last week. “He’s got the voice down very well,” Stephen said. “I think it’s getting a little too nasty right now. I don’t want to be party pooper here, but I don’t think it’s very funny. I don’t think there’s anything funny about this election.”
During the SNL spoof of the third and final presidential debate, Alec’s Trump listed off the throng of “heavy hitters” who are supporting the GOP nominee. “I’ve got the cream of the crop. I’ve got Sarah Palin, I’ve got Chachi, and — get this — I’ve even got the best Baldwin brother: Stephen Baldwin.”
The cold open also took aim at Trump’s claim the media is rigging the election against him — and Trump’s controversial statement during the debate that he’d keep people “in suspense” as to whether he will accept the outcome of the election on Nov. 8.
“I will look at it at the time, because frankly this whole thing is rigged. Even the media, every day I turn on the news and all of the newscasters are making me look so bad,” Alec’s Trump said, adding, ” By taking all of the things I say and all of the things I do and putting them on TV.”
