Thirty, flirty, and thriving — on stage!

The 2004 romantic comedy 13 Going on 30 is being adapted into a Broadway musical, Revolution Studios has announced. Heathers: The Musical and She’s the Man director Andy Fickman is set to produce and direct the show, with music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (Broadway’s First Date).

Deadline, which first reported the news Friday, reports that while most of the music in the show will be original, incorporating some of the 1980s hits that appeared in the film (like “Thriller” and “Love is a Battlefield”) has not been ruled out.

13 Going on 30 has all the elements of a great musical: comedy, romance, and empowering message — and a touch of magic,” said Fickman. “I am extremely excited to work with Josh, Cathy, Aland and Michael and the Revolution team to bring it to the stage.”

“We are thrilled to partner with a group of tremendously talented individuals to bring 13 Going on 30 to the live stage,” said Revolution’s Marla Levine. “We are always seeking innovative approaches to enhance and expand upon properties in the Revolution catalog and this is a fantastic way to breathe new life into a delightful story so it can be enjoyed by theater audiences.”
