Another familiar face was revealed to be alive during Thursday’s episode of How to Get Away with Murder — and with it came a major twist.
On the night of the house fire, Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) tries to contact Connor (Jack Falahee), but instead reaches Trishelle Pratt (Brett Butler), who found Connor’s phone in the cushions of her daughter’s couch. That’s right, Michaela’s (Aja Naomi King) adoptive mother has come to town, which will reveal a lot about Michaela’s background.
“We know Michaela’s been called bayou trash,” executive producer Pete Nowalk tells EW. “The character of Trishelle Pratt is the epitome of where Michaela’s from and they have a very contentious, alienated relationship. Michaela will say in the fifth episode when she’s talking about her family to our students, she tells them, ‘I am who I am in spite of my family. I’ve escaped them.’ So, in the flash forward, the mother is there the whole time and she’s there for a little surprise on Michaela. We’ll just dig into more of what kind of environment Michaela grew up in and it’s not what you would expect.”
While Michaela was revealed to be alive, a news report on the TV at the hospital unearthed that an unidentified male was found dead within the house, so the identity of the person under the sheet has narrowed further:
