Reunited and it feels so good!
During Tuesday’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daisy (Chloe Bennet) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) teamed up to warn other Inhumans that the Watchdogs were tracking them. First on the list: James, a.k.a. Hellfire (Axle Whitehead), whom Daisy wanted to enlist to fight back against the Watchdogs as a team.
Alas, James was actually on the side of the Watchdogs and would’ve killed the duo with a fiery chain if Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) hadn’t shown up to match hot tempers. Though Daisy’s first pass at finding a partner didn’t work, will she use the list to find a new team of enhanced individuals to comprise the Secret Warriors? It’s possible, but it’ll be a while before that comes to fruition.
“Inhumans are very much still in our world, so we still have some of these people in the mix, but we’re not focusing on those stories right now,” executive producer Jed Whedon tells EW. “There are a fair amount of Inhumans out in the world, so we will of course encounter them as we go, but right now we’re on the Ghost Rider kick.”
Both Ghost Rider and Daisy are now slated to help S.H.I.E.L.D. track down a book of infinite knowledge, the Darkhold, lest those pesky apparitions get it first. “It’s an uneasy thing for everyone involved,” Whedon says. “Daisy has made it very clear that she doesn’t want to be with our team. There’s all that history and pain there. For Robbie, this is a guy who has never had a team, and probably doesn’t function well within one. We’ll see pretty quickly that it’s an uneasy alliance and it’s going to cause a lot of drama.”
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
