There may be no force on earth that can stop a crowd of Justin Bieber fans from screaming uncontrollably in the presence of their idol — not even Justin Bieber himself.

During a recent concert in Birmingham, England, the pop star begged and pleaded with the audience to pause its cacophony of excitement so he could say a few words.

“Can you guys do me a favor?” Bieber asked in a moment captured on social media. “Can you guys just relax for like two seconds?”

Sounding increasingly weary, the “Purpose” singer explained that he appreciates “all the love,” but “the screaming is just so obnoxious.”

Perhaps, he suggested, everyone could scream after the songs. “And then take a chill pill for a second and just listen to me speak. I don’t feel like I’m being heard sometimes and it gets a little frustrating. So if when I’m speaking you guys could not scream at the top of your lungs, is that cool with you guys? Can we do that?”

Naturally, the crowd screamed in agreement. Watch Bieber’s plea below.
