Bill Maher took on the controversial Ann Coulter Friday on Real Time, and the staunch Donald Trump supporter had a few words regarding the groping allegations lodged at the Republican nominee: “I got news for you, we knew he had personal baggage. We knew he was a lout,” she said. “But he’s the only one who will do anything for the working class in this country.”

Coulter made those remarks after criticizing the media for warping the narrative away from the issues and towards his “personal baggage.”

Maher began the interview bringing up the accusations against Trump that have dominated recent headlines. Multiple women, including PEOPLE writer Natasha Stoynoff and two others reported by The New York Times, accused him of sexual misconduct. Trump has since denied the allegations, but more women have come forward, including former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos.

“No one is voting for Donald Trump because of his character or personality,” Coulter said. “We never were. It was always about the issues.”

Maher also brought up the leaked tapes from 2005 in which Trump was caught telling Billy Bush how he grabs women “by the p—y.” When Maher asked if there’d be outcry if President Obama were hypothetically caught in the same circumstance, Coulter said, “I would probably not believe anything from a hot mic — alleged from a hot mic — or care about these charges if it’s right before an election. I mean, everybody…and I don’t really want to talk about this.”

She added, “I will say that everyone in television has said horrible things on television that you wouldn’t want to get out there.”
