Comedian Tracy Morgan made an emotional return to the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino on Friday evening, two years after the car accident that left him in a coma and killed his friend James “Jimmy Mack” McNair following a performance at the venue.

In a photo posted to Instagram before his set, Morgan is seen kneeling, clasping his hands, and bowing his head over an empty chair marked with a gold bow. The caption reads, “Back @ DoverDowns. Miss you Jimmy Mack. Tonight will be magical.”

In June 2014, the morning after a gig at the Delaware venue, Morgan, McNair, and other passengers were traveling in a limousine van when a Walmart truck struck their vehicle from behind on the New Jersey Turnpike. The crash killed McNair and seriously injured Morgan and three other passengers.

The Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock veteran settled a lawsuit against Walmart in May 2015, and he first returned to the stand-up stage just over a year ago.
