The Griswolds announce 'High Times for Low Lives' and premiere title track
The Aussie alt-rockers second LP is slated for release Nov. 11
Aussie alt-rockers the Griswolds are back with a new album, High Times for Low Lives, out Nov. 11, and EW is thrilled to premiere the title track to the new collection below.
Since dropping their debut album, Be Impressive, in 2014 the four-piece has toured constantly. And while it’s a dream for a career to take off, the group says it didn’t take long for them discover the less glamorous side of life of the road. As frontman Chris Whitehall says, “Relationships are impossible to maintain, booze is in endless supply, and it’s really easy to make poor decisions and blame everything around you.”
The gooey tune also operates as a mission statement for the rest of the album, which chronicles the band’s peaks and valleys from the past couple years. “It’s about the high times and the good life,” Whitehall says, “but also about the sacrifice and cost of that lifestyle. When you give your all to something, and work your ass off at it, you might lose the people you love along the way if they’re not ready to come on that journey.”
“High Times for Low Lives” is streaming below. The album, which will release via Wind-up Records, will be available for pre-order on Friday, Oct. 14.
