Jimmy Smits used to play a cop on TV. Now he’ll play a former cop on TV.

The NYPD alum will guest-star on the Thanksgiving-themed episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine airing Nov. 22, Fox has confirmed. He’ll appear as the loving father of Amy (Melissa Fumero), who used to be a police offer. Like his daughter, he is a type-A personality, and Jake (Andy Samberg) spends the holiday trying to impress him.

Smits will be seen on the network later this season as a cast member of 24: Legacy. He also stars in the Netflix music drama The Get Down.

The Brooklyn season 4 guest roster also includes Maya Rudolph, Rhea Perlman, Ken Marino, Jim O’Heir, Matt Walsh, and Jorma Taccone.
