Iconic rocker Rod Stewart was knighted by Prince William Tuesday at Buckingham Palace.

The musician wore tartan to honor his Scottish roots and attended with his wife Penny Lancaster along with sons Alastair and Aiden. The Duke of Cambridge performed the ceremony and Stewart can now go by Sir Roderick David Stewart.

The musician even got a shoutout from the Royal Family’s Twitter account in honor of the occasion. “Congratulations Sir Rod Stewart, honoured by the Duke of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace today for services to music and charity.”
