Murder in the First was killed after the third.

TNT has axed the San Francisco-based detective anthology drama from veteran TV producer Steven Bochco, EW has confirmed.

The series starred Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson and ran for three seasons, airing its final episode last month. The show’s finale episode delivered 1.6 million viewers.

TNT tried something a bit unique with the show, following one case over the course of a season — like AMC’s The Killing, which also lasted three seasons on basic cable before shifting to a fourth round on Netflix.
