Harnessing the powers of the universe is hard as it sounds
The power to control the universe’s most powerful energy has to come with discipline, and in this exclusive clip for Max Steel, the film’s unlikely heroes take their first crack at training.
16-year old Max McGrath (Ben Winchell) is a new face in a small town trying to find a way to fit in. Apart from the typical teen angst of meeting new people, Max has the added ability where his body can generate powerful energy. With his trivial strength, Max meets a techno-organic extraterrestrial named Steel (Josh Brener), who can combine the teen to form the superhero Max Steel.
Shooting the mystical powers from his hands, Max attempts to control several electric devices in the woods. The alarm clock goes off well, spinning through the numbers with ease — that is, until Max becomes overly confident with a nearby lamp. Sending a shockwave of power that the hero in training can’t handle, the items explode, showing off a potential in the duo that needs to be harnessed.
Directed by Stewart Handler (Sorority Row), with the screenplay by Christopher Yost (Thor: Ragnarok), head the action sci-fi film based off of the line of Mattel action figures and animated series.
Max Steel zooms into theaters on Friday. Watch the new clip above, and you can see the film’s trailer below.
