Seth Meyers has joined the chorus of people criticizing Donald Trump over his vulgar, graphic comments about women.
The Late Show host turned his crosshairs on the 2005 tape of Trump making aggressive, sexual remarks about women during a conversation with former Access Hollywood personality Billy Bush — a recording “that by now,” Meyer said, “you probably know better than your 5-year-old knows Frozen.”
“A man who is this close to the highest office in the land now occupies the lowest office in the land: The pervert on the boss,” Meyers said during the show’s “A Closer Look” segment.
Meyers also mocked Trump and Bush’s demand for hugs from Days of Our Lives star Arianne Zucker. “They’re so entitled, they think they deserve hugs for getting off a bus,” Meyers said.
The late-night host also noted that Bush has been suspended from NBC’s Today in the wake of the video’s release, “which means there is currently a higher standard for host for third hour of the Today show than there is for the Republican nominee for president,” Meyers added.
Trump initially apologized if anyone was offended by the remarks and called it “locker room talk,” a notion Meyers and others have rejected. “First of all, no it’s not. That is not the way men in locker rooms talk,” Meyer said. “Second of all, this is the problem: Trump treats the entire world like the inside of a men’s locker room.”
