Hocus Pocus 2: Sarah Jessica Parker weighs in on sequel possibility
Will the Sanderson sisters ever fly again? While the idea of a Hocus Pocus sequel seems to be fading faster than the Black Flame Candle, the stars of the original have kept hope alive. Enter Sarah Jessica Parker to stoke those flames once more.
The actress, who played Sarah, teased the possibility during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live to promote her HBO series, Divorce. When host Andy Cohen asked about Hocus Pocus 2, she said, “I would love that. I think we’ve all been fairly vocal about being very keen but that hasn’t created any groundswell of movement.”

Hocus Pocus starred Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson sisters, three devilishly slapstick witches resurrected on Halloween in the modern day. Last year, Parker said they’ve “all been exchanging funny, not-reality-based messages to one another,” but Midler later clarified in a Reddit AMA that they have no power over the sequel.
“So if you want a Hocus Pocus 2, ask the Walt Disney company,” she wrote.
Midler also addressed sequel potential last November during a Facebook Q&A. “After all these years and all the fan demand,” she wrote, “I do believe I can stand and firmly say an unequivocal no.”
