Ghosts, vampires, angels, psychics, and perhaps a new guilty pleasure await you in Midnight, Texas.

Fans of True Blood can start sharpening their fangs for the next TV series based on author Charlaine Harris’ best-selling 2014-16 book trilogy. Midnight, Texas will premiere as a daring new thriller on NBC in midseason 2017, and EW has an exclusive first look at the trailer.

The series follows a wayfaring psychic (Francois Arnaud) who winds up in a sleepy Texas town that’s become a destination for supernatural outsiders, including a vampire, a witch, an angel, and a hitwoman. When one of their own is murdered, the town’s misfit residents must all band together to fight the future and confront their dangerous pasts.

Midnight, Texas stars Arnaud, Sarah Ramos, Arielle Kebbel, Peter Mensah, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Dylan Bruce, Jason Lewis, and Yul Yazquez. Niels Arden Oplev (Mr. Robot) directed the pilot; Monica Owusu-Breen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and David Janollari (Six Feet Under) will executive produce.

The show will also make its first major convention appearance this weekend at New York Comic-Con, debuting the panel (and this trailer) on Oct. 8.
