Suicide Squad extended cut invading upcoming home release
The Suicide Squad are getting a second chance at redemption.
Just like the battling heroes of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, DC’s gang of baddies are getting an extended film cut. The official Suicide Squad Twitter shared a short teaser revealing the extra content to be packaged with the upcoming Blu-ray, DVD and digital download releases. Flashes of familiar scenes take over the screen, with a final moment of a pre-villainous Harley Quinn confronting a figure on a bike.
It’s unknown how much extra footage will be available within the release, but during interviews with Jared Leto about his role as the Joker, he stated several scenes of his character were cut. The action adventure ensemble piece, which got mixed reviews from critics but opened big at the box office this past August, follows a group of supervillains tasked with saving Midway City from one of their own. The film stars Will Smith, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, and Jared Leto.
As Smith’s Deadshot says to put a cap on the video, “Stay evil, doll face. Spread the word.”
Suicide Squad‘s extended edition drops for digital HD download on Nov. 15 and Blu-ray on Dec. 13.
