The Streamy Awards paid tribute to Christina Grimmie on Tuesday night. The late star, a YouTuber and former Voice contestant, was shot and killed at a fan event in Florida in June.

“Christina Grimie was one of my favorite people not only because she was caring, she was humble, and she always felt like people mattered,” fellow YouTuber Shane Dawson said while on stage during the tribute, “but because the first thing she said when she met me was ‘OMG your videos are really gross but for some reason I love you.”

He continued, “And that really stuck with me because it showed she was unfiltered and funny, but most importantly that she wasn’t judgmental. No matter who you were, or what you believed in, or how gross your humor was, Christina made you feel accepted.”

Dawson began to tear as he closed his remarks. “Thank you, Christina, for every beautiful moment and for every beautiful song.”

Kurt Hugo Schneider and Sam Tsui then took the stage to perform a medley of Grimmie’s songs and covers, while a montage of images and video clips played behind them.
