The wait for season 2 of Voltron: Legendary Defender just got a little bit easier.
The animated Netflix series — which is a modern update of the 1980s Voltron cartoon — has released a trailer showcasing footage from the second season, something only fans who’d attended the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel had been privy too before now.
The trailer, below, picks up not long after the first season’s finale, which saw Voltron not only forcibly separated, but also scattered across the galaxy. But fans won’t have to fret for too long, because as the video eventually reveals, Voltron will form once again. But that doesn’t mean our heroes are out of the woods just yet. The trailer also features, Shiro (ominously) requesting that Keith take over as leader of Voltron, before later walking into some kind of white light, as Keith calls out to him.
While the 13-episode second season hasn’t received a release date as yet, the show’s New York Comic Con panel on Friday, will screen an upcoming episode. In addition, executive producers Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (both Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra alums) will be making an appearance alongside series story editor Tim Hedrick and stars Bex Taylor-Klaus (Scream: The TV Series) and Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time) to discuss the soon-to-premiere season 2, as well as answer fan questions.
DreamWorks’ Voltron: Legendary Defender follows the adventures of a team of teenage astronauts who pilot the titular Voltron, a giant robot made up of five flying lion robots, to battle the evil Emperor Zarkon. The teenagers unite their flying robot lions to form the powerful Voltron.
Season 1 of Voltron: Legendary Defender is currently available to stream on Netflix.
