We once knew him as Silent Bob, the quiet yet insightful sidekick to his heavy-smoking onscreen best friend Jay (Jason Mewes), but Kevin Smith has an awful lot to say nowadays – particularly about Batman.

The Jay and Silent Bob star (and lifelong comic book fan) will be appearing at EW PopFest to perform a live recording of his popular podcast Fat Man on Batman. Joined by film editor and comic book writer (as well as former EW staffer) Marc Bernardin, the two will talk all about the Caped Crusader and explore the fandom surrounding the franchise.

Smith joins a handful of other podcasts taking the stage for live recordings at Entertainment Weekly’s two-day pop culture extravaganza. Additional PopFest programming will include cast members from Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural, Happy Endings, and all four superhero shows on the CW (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow), as well as Gilmore Girls creator/executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino. Jennifer Aniston will appear with her Office Christmas Party cast mates, Eddie Redmayne will conjure up a sneak peak of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and PopFest will kick off with an advance screening of Marvel’s Doctor Strange

EW PopFest will take place at The Reef in Downtown Los Angeles from Oct. 29-30. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to
