Jimmy Kimmel unloads props at charity yard sale
Jimmy Kimmel has now hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! for 13 years. That’s a long time for any late-night host, and given that Kimmel’s humor is so heavily based on pranks and tricks, it’s led to a deluge of leftover props over the years. Recently, Kimmel decided to sell off the old props in a yard sale (with profits going to a charity for his late uncle), and filmed the proceedings for Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
While Cousin Sal ran around stealing people’s items out of their hands and Guillermo took a nap on top of a defunct washing machine, Kimmel went on a mini-nostalgia tour, picking out props and sharing the stories behind them. That table, for instance, was a gift from his mother he kept on display in his office for years, thinking it was from Italy (it’s not), and that giant George Lopez head was intended to drop on the comedian’s lawn back when he lived on Kimmel’s block (but then he moved). Other items include outfits worn by Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Saldana (“this is a pervert’s dream come true”) and a cupcake outfit once worn by a producer on the show.
