The TV personality also dishes on motherhood and opening Rihanna's fan mail
Chrissy Teigen is working toward molding a better political landscape for her daughter to grow up in, as the Lip Sync Battle cohost cautioned Americans against voting for the wrong candidate in the upcoming election during a Tuesday apperance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
After dishing on living in the former home of pop superstar Rihanna (and opening her fan mail, which DeGeneres informed the TV personality was actually illegal), Teigen — who welcomed her first child, Luna, with husband John Legend in April — went on to discuss her feelings on the upcoming race for the White House between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
After admitting she’s been notably outspoken during the election cycle thus far, Teigen insisted getting young people to register to vote is of utmost importance.
“We’re out trying to get people to register to vote without telling anyone who to vote for,” she said. “But, I’m sure if you follow me, you know my thoughts on who to vote for.”
She continued: “Of course it’s a really heated election season, and I think it’s important to vote for the person who is not a sociopath. It’s easy to talk about Donald, obviously… but why we, personally, love Hillary is she’s far and away the most qualified for the job. She is ready to see this office again. She’s seen it before. We’re really supportive of her and we’ve loved her for a really long time.”
Teigen also stressed that Americans have an obligation to vote in more than just the Nov. 8 election.
“[We’re voting for] the little things. You’re not just voting for president,” she said. “People don’t know there’s all these props and there’s some legalizing of things you guys might be interested in. That might be a good thing to vote for.”
