Ben Affleck may have made his debut as Bruce Wayne in the verbosely titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but for his upcoming solo movie, he’s keeping things short and sweet.
Affleck sat down with the Associated Press recently to talk about his upcoming thriller The Accountant, but he also took the time to discuss the solo Batman movie, which he will star in, co-write, and direct. Affleck also revealed the movie’s working title: The Batman.
“At least that’s what we’re going with now,” Affleck added. “I might change it.”
A release date has yet to be announced, but The Batman is expected to be released between the The Flash movie (which is set for 2018) and the Cyborg movie (which is out in 2020). At this summer’s Comic-Con, Warner Bros. confirmed that Affleck will both star in and direct the film.
“We’re working on the script,” Affleck told the Associated Press. “The script is going well. I’m really excited about it. And I assure you when there’s anything that develops, you’ll hear about it.”
With the script still a work in progress, we don’t know too many details yet about The Batman, but in September, Joe Manganiello joined the cast as the villain Deathstroke. Affleck is co-writing the script with DC’s Geoff Johns.
