Grumpy Cat, the internet’s favorite feline, will appear in Cats on Broadway, the musical announced Thursday.

Grumpy Cat will be the first actual cat to join the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical — although the show is about cats, it traditionally has an all-human cast, meaning the addition of a genuine cat will certainly make for an interesting show.

The new cast member gave a very appropriate statement about the news: “Being selected as the first real cat to perform in Cats on Broadway is an honor. I hate it,” she said. “If I’m really being honest, I’d prefer to play the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera.”

Grumpy Cat will make her debut on Sept. 30. No further information about her role in the show has been announced. It’s unclear if Grumpy Cat will be eligible for a Tony Award.
