What do you do when you’re a talk show host and your guest cancels at the last minute?

Well, if you’re Chelsea Handler, you go on with the show exactly as planned, but with a body double.

The Chelsea host had invited Ann Coulter onto her Netflix show after receiving criticism that she was presenting only one side of the presidential race. When the conservative pundit called (or rather, emailed) in sick at the last moment, Handler decided to show the audience what their interview might have looked like by having her friend (and comedian) Fortune Feimster (The Mindy Project) come out in a blonde wig, playing Coulter’s “body double.”

Feimster (as Coulter) then proceeded to explain that she was “tricked” into participating in Rob Lowe’s Comedy Central roast, as well as promote her new book, In Trump We Trust. When Handler asked her to share some of her political views, Feimster feigned reading passages from Coulter’s book, while actually reading out some of the quotes Coulter has given over the years.

As the audience began to boo after each one, Feimster quipped, “You guys clearly didn’t read my book.”

To this, Handler responded, “In all fairness, in defense of my audience, it’s hard to get through that piece of s—.” See the faux interview in the video above.
