ABC has given full-season orders to Designated Survivor and Speechless, EW has learned. Each was picked up for an additional nine episodes, bringing their respective totals to 22 episodes.

Designated Survivor, starring Kiefer Sutherland as a low-level White House staffer elevated to Commander in Chief after a terror attack, debuted to 10 million viewers and a 2.3 in the 18-49 demo, dropping roughly 18 percent in its second week but still winning the 10 p.m. timeslot.

Speechless, meanwhile, debuted to 7.3 million and a 2.0, matching its Goldbergs lead-in, but falling slightly to 6.4 million and a 1.8 this week. The family comedy stars Minnie Driver, John Ross Bowie, and Micah Fowler.
