J.K. Rowling has not been shy about comparing politics to Harry Potter. Back in December, the author tweeted that Voldemort was “nowhere near as bad” as Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Both Trump and Voldemort have been repeatedly compared to the Nazis, for one thing. But according to Harry Potter himself, Danield Radcliffe, the comparison between Trump and Voldemort may not be quite so airtight.

“I sort of think Donald Trump might not be as ideologically pure as Voldemort,” Radcliffe recently told SkyNews. “My thing on Trump is that he feels like more of an opportunist — like I don’t know how much of this stuff he’s saying he actually, really, really believes… But that comparison is certainly not without its merits.”

Earlier this month, The Daily Show host Trevor Noah juxtaposed himself and the Republican presidential nominee with the Boy Who Lived and his villain counterpart. “I think, in some way, I may be connected to Trump… sort of like Harry Potter and Voldemort,” he said during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “I feel like I came out of nowhere, and people were like, Who? And then this thing came out and they were like, It can’t happen. And now it’s happening. I think I may need to die to save America. To save you all.”
