A psychic. An institutionalized journalist. A supremely powerful witch. A two-headed woman. A heroin-addicted ghost. And a yoga instructor? Sarah Paulson’s roles on American Horror Story have certainly been varied over the course of all six seasons. So what has been the weirdest thing she’s had to do so far? We thought we knew (Sally from Hotel sewed herself to two other people) but, when we asked the Emmy-winning actress at our EW cover shoot a few weeks ago, she surprised as always.

“I think it’s actually what I’m doing on season six,” says Paulson. She adds, “There’s nothing extreme about her except for the situation that she’s in. So that is weirdly the weirdest thing I’ve ever done on American Horror Story.”
