King Cobra

  • Movie

The first trailer for King Cobra has arrived, and it’s full of porn scenes, sex scenes, and murderous scheming.

The film is based on the book Cobra Killer by Andrew E. Stoner and Peter A. Conway, which tells the true story of the 2007 murder of gay porn producer Bryan Kocis. The film follows Steven (the Kocis character, played by Christian Slater) as he discovers a gay porn novice (Garrett Clayton) and turns him into Brent Corrigan, the star of the King Cobra empire. But soon, a pair of rival producers, Joe and Harlow (James Franco and Keegan Allen), want Corrigan to work for them. When Steven refuses to let Corrigan go, Joe and Harlow turn to murder to get what they want.

The film is billed as equal parts drama and satire, as evidenced in the darkly funny trailer. King Cobra, which premiered in April at the Tribeca Film Festival, is written and directed by Justin Kelly. Molly Ringwald and Alicia Silverstone round out the cast.

The film opens in theaters and VOD on Oct. 21.
