Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and more to headline TIDAL philanthropic festival
Global music streaming service TIDAL and New York City’s largest poverty-fighting organization Robin Hood announced Wednesday that the organizations are uniting to put together a philanthropic music festival featuring Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, and Alicia Keys among others.
The TIDAL X: 1015 festival takes place on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and is designed to raise awareness and funds for education initiatives around the world.
This the second annual benefit concert TIDAL has organized with the inaugural concert in 2015 raising more than $1.5 million and seeing Beyoncé, JAY Z, Lil Wayne, Nick Jonas, and Nicki Minaj take to the stage to play to sold out crowds.
This year’s event promises to be just as epic with a lineup including Ms. Lauryn Hill, Common, TIP, DNCE, Robin Thicke, Emeli Sandé, Blood Orange, Bebe Rexha and many more.
Tickets go on pre-sale for TIDAL members on Thursday Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. ET at www.tidal.com, while general on-sale begins on Sept. 26. The show will also be live-streamed and available for all members and non-members on TIDAL.com.
One hundred percent of all ticket sales will benefit Robin Hood and TIDAL-supported nonprofit educational organizations.
“Supporting the community and having positive impact is a TIDAL tenet and mission,” said Dania Diaz, VP of Philanthropy, Roc Nation in a statement. “We are honored to partner with Robin Hood for TIDAL X: 1015 around this year’s current theme, education. We know that education can advance communities and can be the most powerful tool for change.”
