We still have to wait one more accursed month for Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, the newest film in the hopefully neverending series about Tom Cruise fighting everyone for justice. To tide you over, Paramount just released a new lo-fi 8-bit videogame called Jack Reacher: Never Stop Punching. You play as Reacher, the heroic ex-military policeman, who wanders the mean streets of these United States hunting for bad guys to pummel.

The game’s a pretty straightforward side-scroller: hit Z to punch, hit X to jump, pick up the keyboard and crush it against your forehead to assert dominance over your environment. It looks a little bit like Bad Dudes vs. DragonNinja, a game about tough dudes saving the president from ninjas, which would also make a great plot for Jack Reacher 5.

You can play Never Stop Punching at the film’s website or on your Android whatever. Never Go Back opens Oct. 21 and also stars Cobie Smulders. Unclear if she also punches people, but let’s hope.
