Corey Brooks was not necessarily the most charismatic or dynamic player to ever enter the Big Brother house, but the 25-year-old baseball coach from Dallas performed well in challenges, got along socially with everyone, and seemingly hypnotized showmance partner Nicole through the power of hotness.
But neither alleged hotness nor an unfortunate fauxhawk could carry Corey to the half-million dollars as he was voted out of the house. We caught up with the evicted houseguest on his way to the jury to discuss how and why it all went wrong.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How much does it hurt to get eliminated after losing a baseball-themed challenge?
COREY BROOKS: I don’t care that it was baseball themed, it was just the principle of losing a comp in general when my butt was on the line. I put my head down and went as hard as I could but I should have been a little more careful when registering my buttons.
If you had won the veto, would you have taken yourself or Nicole off the block?
It wouldn’t have mattered. I probably would have taken Nicole off the block. I don’t mind being up on the block and I would have given a cool speech. She would have taken James out so I would have taken her off because I could have.
If you could go back and change one thing about your game that maybe would have gotten you to the finals, what would it be?
I could have thrown the slippery slope comp to Nicole and let her win that and then this HOH that Paul won, I would have won it. I would have then been HOH and put up Paul and James. I think that would have helped.
You got into quite the showmance with Nicole this summer. What do you think your future holds outside of the house romantically?
We are both recently single so this is something we need to discuss outside the house. I have never known Nicole outside of the house and she lives on the other side of the country. If it is something we want to be serious about, things need to progress with our friendship outside of the house.
Anyone you’re a little worried about seeing in the jury house?
No, I am happy to see everybody. I don’t want to be in jury and see them. I would rather see them on finale night when I am final two but I am not worried about seeing anyone. I got along with pretty much everyone.
Finally, what’s with your Christmas obsession?
They made that a bigger deal than it was. My birthday is on Halloween so I would say that is my favorite but I do love Christmas. I don’t have a weird obsession with it, I just enjoy that time of year.
