ABC is getting magical.

EW has learned that the network has given a pilot production commitment order to Deception, a magic drama from the producers of Chuck and Blindspot.

When a superstar magician’s career is ruined by scandal, he has only one place to turn to practice his art of deception, illusion, and influence — the FBI. He’ll become the world’s first consulting illusionist, helping the government solve crimes that defy explanation, and trap criminals and spies by using deception.

Note: The project is not to be confused with NBC’s short-lived Revenge-style drama of the same name.

Chris Fedak (Chuck, Legends of Tomorrow) will write and executive-produce the Warner Bros. TV project with Blindspot trio Greg Berlanti, Martin Gero, and Sarah Schechter.

Renowned magician and New York Times crossword constructor David Kwong, who serves as a consultant on Blindspot and worked on Now You See Me — hence the photo above, because this totally feels like Now You See Me on TV — will serve as a co-producer on Deception.
