Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time has found its Meg Murry.

EW has confirmed that up-and-coming actress Storm Reid has landed the lead role in the Disney adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s beloved children’s book.

DuVernay is directing for Disney from a script by Frozen’s Jennifer Lee, and Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling are on board to star as Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who, respectively.

“After an extensive search that spanned multiple dimensions, we’re overjoyed to welcome Storm Reid to Wrinkle in Time as our beloved ‘Meg,'” DuVernay said in a statement. “Storm is a tremendously talented young actress who embodies the hopes, dreams and spirit of a character much loved by audiences worldwide for generations. I can’t wait to work with Storm as we chronicle Meg’s epic quest, alongside Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who. Tesser well!”

L’Engle’s novel follows Meg, a young girl who struggles in school but excels in math and physics. Her scientist father has been missing for years, and Meg, her brother Charles Wallace, and her classmate Calvin O’Keefe set out on a journey across space and time to find and rescue him, with help from various celestial creatures like the three Mrs. W’s and the enigmatic Aunt Beast.

Reid made her film debut just a few years ago with a role in 12 Years a Slave, and she recently starred in the American Girl movie Lea to the Rescue as well as this year’s Sundance hit Sleight.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news. Production is set to begin later this year.

Winfrey, Witherspoon, and Kaling made their involvement official on Twitter (and Winfrey even got into character as the stuttering Mrs. Which).
