Green Day's 'Bang Bang' music video: Band rob a bank, throw a rager
Green Day will release Revolution Radio, their first album in four years, on Oct. 7. The pop-punk luminaries have already shared lead single “Bang Bang” and the record’s title track — and now they’ve dropped a frantic music video for the former song.
Directed by fellow punk lifer Tim Armstrong — the Rancid frontman who bears no relation to Green Day leader Billie Joe Armstrong — the “Bang Bang” video juxtaposes imagery of bank robbers dressed in Green Day masks with the band performing a house show reminiscent of their DIY roots.
To celebrate Revolution Radio‘s release, Green Day will embark on a 12-date North American club tour beginning Sept. 20 in St. Louis and concluding Oct. 20 in Berkeley, Calif. They’ve also announced a slate of European dates for January and February 2017.
“We’re ready to rock,” drummer Tré Cool recently told EW. “We’re going into this record cycle with a lot of gratitude, a lot of humility. We just really do enjoy the s— out of being in a rock & roll band with our best friends.”
