Scream Queens casts Kirstie Alley in season 2
Kirstie Alley is headed to the hospital.
The former Cheers and Hot in Cleveland star has joined the cast of Scream Queens season 2 in a major series regular role.
Alley will play the “brilliant and devious administrator” of the C.U.R.E. Institute, “where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation.”
Fox’s press releases declares that Alley is “one of the great actresses of her generation, proving time and again that she is capable of great depth and range, as well as possessing a comedic timing second to none.”
She has earned two Emmys and a Golden Globe after all. Plus, the pairing of Alley in a Ryan Murphy-produced series seems like, if anything, something that should have happened sooner. Alley was most recently in the Will Arnett and Mitch Hurwitz comedy Flaked. Appropriately, she also has at least one horror film on her resume, 1995’s Villiage of the Damned.
As previously announced, John Stamos, Taylor Lautner, and James Earl have also joined the Scream Queens cast, while Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, Glen Powell, and Niecy Nash are set to reprise their first season characters.
Scream Queens returns Tuesday, Sept. 20.
