Kelly Ripa and Anderson Cooper recreate Grease hand jive
Kelly Ripa and Anderson Cooper turned into the real life version of Grease‘s Sandy Olsson and Danny Zuko on Friday.
While backstage on the Live with Kelly set, the two TV hosts recreated their own version of the iconic hand jive number from the 1978 musical comedy.
In the adorable video shared on Ripa’s Instagram, 49-year-old Cooper dances over the LIVE host as she rolls back and twirls her arms.
“That’s from Grease,” the 45-year-old says as she smiles into the camera while Cooper laughs in the background.
Ripa has been without a co-host on her morning program since Michael Strahan left the show in May, and numerous film and TV personalities have since filled the empty seat as guest co-hosts, including Cooper.
On Tuesday, the show announced that Ripa and producers are giving one lucky fan a chance to take a seat beside her for one day only. Anyone can enter the contest and Ripa, 45, will pick a random guest co-host from a pool of applicants. Fans have until Sept. 20 to apply on the show’s website and Facebook.
Although the co-host position needs to be filled, a source told PEOPLE on Friday that Ripa is in no rush to permanently fill the role.
“Kelly has always felt strongly that the show will need a permanent co-host and she is committed to finding one,” the source told PEOPLE. “But that process cannot be rushed, and so she is happy to take her time to make sure that the chemistry is right.”
Live with Kelly airs weekdays (check local listings).
