Awkward comedy meets The Ring-style horror in new webseries David, where Nathan Fielder plays the titular character, a man who just found out he has five weeks to live thanks to a black stone in his chest. Jenny Slate also appears in the just-released series, which was written and directed by her Marcel the Shell With Shoes On collaborator (and ex-husband), Dean Fleischer-Camp.

The five episodes follow David as he gets his affairs in order by seeing a therapist, visiting his ex-wife (Slate), and taking an ill-fated trip to a forest. It’s very, very strange, and very, very in line with Fielder’s brand of comedy.

Fielder’s most known for his Comedy Central series, Nathan for You, which features him doling out terrible advice to struggling businesses. He’s also appeared in shows like The Grinder, Drunk History, and Kroll Show and done voice work for Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, and Animals.
