The Last Ship will be charting a course well into the future.

TNT announced on Thursday that it has extended its renewal of the post-apocalyptic drama to include a fifth season. The show, which offers up its season 3 finale on Sunday, was picked up for a fourth season back in July. While the second and third seasons contained 13 episodes, the fourth and fifth seasons each will have 10 episodes.

The Last Ship — which is based on the William Brinkley novel of the same name — has been a ratings standout for TNT, with season 3 averaging 7.1 million viewers per episode across all platforms. The show has been among the top 10 basic cable summer dramas in the 18-to-49-demographic.

Starring Eric Dane, Adam Baldwin, and Bridget Regan, the series follows the adventures of the USS Nathan James as the crew tries to find a cure for the virus that has killed most of the world’s population.
