Entourage‘s Kevin Connolly has joined the cast of Fox’s new drama Pitch, EW has learned.

Pitch follows a young female pitcher (Kylie Bunbury) who defies the odds when she becomes the first woman to play in the major leagues — specifically the San Diego Padres.

Connolly will appear as a recurring guest star in a multiple episode arc as Charlie Graham, the interim Padres president of operations. A former Silicon Valley executive, Charlie is youthful, charming, and inspiring. However, his off-beat warmth and enthusiasm belies a steely will and cutthroat bottom line approach to the business of baseball.

The casting marks a return to the network for Connolly, who previously starred on Fox’s short-lived sitcom Great Scott! in 1992. “I’ve had a great relationship with Fox over the years and am happy to be back,” he says.

Pitch debuts Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.

Fox’s 2016 drama Pitch features Kylie Bunbury as Ginny Baker, the first female player to join Major League Baseball. Dan Fogelman and Rick Singer created the series, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ali Larter, and Mark Consuelos also star.
