BioWare used its latest tech demo for Mass Effect: Andromeda to show off the dazzling graphics with the Playstation 4 Pro.
The developer team gave an inside look at the upcoming title during its Playstation Meeting in New York Wednesday. The video, above, features real-time gameplay of the space adventure and introduces players to the new Andromeda galaxy. Aaryn Flynn, general manager of BioWare, narrates the footage and explains the importance of 4K visuals. “4K allows the game to take on new levels of depth, making Mass Effect more immersive than ever,” states Flynn, adding that a new trailer will release on Nov. 7, or N7 Day in the sci-fi franchise.
High dynamic range lighting, sophisticated character models, and seamless movement are just a few of the points the developer spotlights. Staying true to what fans have come to expect from the franchise, a cut scene shown in the final moments sets up new characters and a climactic event.
The new entry in the franchise will act as a spin-off to the main franchise of games. Player will find themselves in the Andromeda Galaxy, with new creatures, enemies, and weapons to separate itself from the main series setting of the Milky Way galaxy.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available in early 2017 for Playstation 4, Playstation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and PC.
