Kanye West debuts Yeezy Season 4
After over an hour of delays, Kanye West debuted the fourth season of his fashion line at New York’s Roosevelt Island.
The show, which took place outside a former smallpox hospital, began with a throng of models clad in solid black and nude-colored apparel standing motionless on a grassy field. One model reportedly fainted from the heat.
The runway portion then proceeded, showcasing similarly neutral-toned clothing. Anna Wintour, Kim Kardashian West, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner were among the celebrities in attendance. Chanel Iman and Teyana Taylor, the star of West’s “Fade” video, walked in the show.
This reveal is just shy of seven months after West’s massive Madison Square Garden Season 3 event, where he premiered his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo. West did not unveil new music during Season 4, though he’s regularly done so in the past: He shared The Life of Pablo track “Wolves” at Yeezy Season 1 and an early version of “Fade” at Season 2.
The line marks the rapper’s fourth fashion collection in under two years, though he launched his first label, DW Kanye West, in 2011. He has been collaborating with Adidas for his Yeezy shoe line since 2009.
