If you watched the trailer for horror sequel The Conjuring 2 backwards would you turn into a demon-worshipping maniac who howls at the moon and bathes in the blood of pigs? Let’s hope not, as the folks at Warner Bros. Home Entertaiment are allowing folks to do just that as a promotion for the release of the film on Blu-ray and DVD.

Directed by James Wan, The Conjuring 2 tracks paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren — played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga — as they first confront the Amityville Horror and then cross the Atlantic to tackle the case of the so-called “Enfield Poltergeist.”

“After we finished the first Conjuring, a lot of people were speculating, and hoping, that the next movie would be the case of the Amityville haunting,” Wan told EW earlier this year. “I knew that I had to touch on Amityville, but I knew that I didn’t want to make another movie about the Amityville story, because that’s been kind of touched to death and there’s been so many stories told off that particular case. So, I knew that I was going to do it more as a cold opening for Conjuring 2, but that then laid the foundation for what the main movie was going to be about. To me, the Enfield case is a mirror story to the Amityville case. We even have a line in the movie where one of the characters says, ‘This is England’s Amityville,’ just to really make that connection between the two. Both cases are highly publicized, both cases have their fair share of fans, and both cases  have their fair share of skeptics. To me, that’s what Conjuring 2 really is — it’s the other side of the pond, but dealing with similar stories.”

The Conjuring 2 is released on Blu-ray and DVD, Sept. 13. Extras include deleted scenes and a number of featurettes.
